The Haneda Tobari bird observes the world from above, but does not understand the human warmth and closeness that it lacks so much. They all need guidance and support in their own way, and Ray, despite his desire to stay away, is gradually drawn into their strange but sincere world. He begins to realize that the path to recovery can go through those whom society considers "inhumans, " and every lesson he gives these students returns to him with a new understanding of what it means to be human.
