In the 6th century BC, there lived in the city a young, beautiful and very virtuous woman named Susanna. In those years, the power in the city belonged to the elders and judges. Two high-ranking Jews, who were just judges, unfortunately for Susanna, were so captivated by her beauty and youth that they could not curb their flaring passions. They began to secretly and constantly spy on the woman walking in the garden. One day they were lucky enough to see the woman naked, bathing at a spring in a bath in the garden all alone. Lust and desire so took hold of the venerable elders that they began to openly harass the beauty. The God-fearing and chaste Susanna, put in a hopeless situation by the elders, still refuses them. For her, the fall into sin is more terrible than human condemnation and punishment.
